Following any form of surgery, you would not be covered to drive for the 1st 48 hours until the effects of the anaesthetic have worn off. Following an arthroscopy and most knee ligament surgery you should be able to drive at a week following surgery. If you have an automatic car and it is your left knee you would be able to drive after 48 hours.

Following a knee replacement, you may be able to drive after 4 weeks however this is dependent on your recovery. If it is your left knee and you have an automatic car, you could realistically drive once you are comfortable getting in and out of the car.

Following arthroscopy and knee ligament surgery most patients should take 2 weeks off work. You will be provided with a certificate for 2 weeks at the time of your surgery. Sometimes dependent on the nature of your job, you may require further time off work in which case Mr Ellis will be pleased to provide a further certificate when you are reviewed 2 weeks following your surgery.

Following knee replacement, most patients require 6 weeks off work. Once again you will be provided with a certificate signing you off work if requir ed by the hospital which can be renewed by Mr Ellis if required.

Tests and Scans Questions

All the hospitals where Mr Simon Ellis has a clinic have Radiology services which include x ray and MRI.

All the hospitals where Mr Ellis works also provides imaging services for NHS patients so if you are referred through the choose and book network any imaging required can generally be carried out at the same hospital

Yes you can. Each hospital has fixed prices fees for the images require which include a report by a dedicated radiologist. The hospital has guideline prices for the tests required. Mr Ellis or his practice team would be able to give you pricing too.
